Like many great hobbies, this all started with my kids. About 12–15 years ago (don't ask me exactly when—I'm getting older and my brain's slowing down!), my sons started collecting trading cards. Watching them rip packs and chase their favorite players lit a spark in me, too. Before long, I was hooked again myself.

The hobby had changed since I was a kid—suddenly there were parallels, variations, refractors... what the heck? I decided to focus on rookie autographs. Before I knew it, my collection was growing fast.

Here's the thing: I loved everything about these cards. The textures. The colors. The crisp autographs. Even the write-ups on the back. I don't know much about art, but I knew these cards were art to me.

Like most collectors, I stored them in 1-Touch mags, tucked safely away in drawers (okay, drawers—plural!). Every so often I'd pull them out to admire them. But I kept asking myself: Why can't I put my treasures on display, right here on the wall where I can enjoy them every day?

I searched everywhere for a system to do just that—nothing. So I started tinkering. For the next five years (between my actual job that pays for all these cards), I tested everything: Velcro, putty, steel bars bolted to the wall—you name it. Eventually, I created a system that let me:

• Place my cards anywhere, in any nook or cranny
• Swap them out in seconds
• Take them down to admire up close or check the back
• Keep them safe and protected, all while looking incredible on display

It worked. And every time I looked at my walls, I thought: "Everyone passionate about cards needs something like this."

For years I nudged my kids to take it to the next step, but they weren't interested. So finally, I did it myself. For the last 18 months, while juggling a full-time job and family life, I built the website, the product line, and everything needed to bring FlexDeez into the world.

This isn't about getting rich. This is about sharing the passion. The community. The joy of the hobby. FlexDeez is my labor of love—born out of a collector's heart, for collectors everywhere.

And we're just getting started. Cards are only the beginning. Comics, magazines, albums—you name it, we're building ways to let you flex it.
